Patriotic Wreath

I just love Red*White*Blue!!  It makes me happy because it is a great time of year and a great day to celebrate our freedoms!

I made this using my coffee filter wreath that I made a while back that had "Spring" in the middle, I took that off and added this by using T-pins {that way I can change it out seasonally}.
I used all Canvas Corp Products {Paper, Canvas, Twine, Mini clothespins}.

Enjoy your day!

Button Love

I made this simple Button art using random vintage buttons that I have in my stash and attached them to a Canvas Corp Burlap Stretched Canvas 8"x8" {link to purchase}

I used to play in my grandma and mom's button collection for hours and hours!  It was like a treasure hunt everytime I would play in them.  I catch myself still playing with buttons!
Have a wonderful day!

Girl's Camp Craft...wall hanging

This is the 13th Article of Faith Wall Hanging Craft that I had the girls do {in my faith we have 13 Articles of Faith that we believe in, see link}.  It was so simple to put together because it is more of a scrapbooking project so I just had papers and embellishments out with the printout of the Article of Faith.
I collected boxes for about a month from others and cut them out about a 7"x9" pieces to act as the base for the project.  I just wanted it to be sturdy to hang on the wall.
 {If you want the .jpg of the design just leave a comment with your email}

 This is the one that I made up...It will look cute on Kate's wall.

I took a picture of a couple of wall hangings that the girls did at camp.

Here is a picture of the stack of boxes that I had to cut up.  I just sat myself in front of the tv and watched "The Next Food Network Star", just a little heads up...my fingers got little blisters from the scissors from cutting, it was worth it!

Have you ever...

wanted to start all over?
It has taken years for me to accumulate all of the nic-nacs and decor for my house.  But, I almost feel that my taste has been starting to change or maybe I am starting to get into more of a modern clean feel.  Lately I have been so attracted to the Coastal/Beach look...clean, crisp.
{p.s. I am totally addicted to Pinterest...pictures from there}
Dream Kitchen:
Is it because I want to go to the beach really bad?
One of these days I will have a house with cedar shingles!
I really love the non-fussy, easy going look...
A couple of months ago I loaned a lot of my decor to my friend, Kelly, that was needing to stage her house to sell. Well, I have forgotten the majority of what I let her borrow until she has sold her house and is moving on Friday {I am totally going to miss her!!!}.  She brought back all of my stuff, as you can see in my picture, a few days ago and it is just sitting in my entryway.  I am seriously thinking of selling all of it at the flea market and starting over.{I want to keep the table and the grass}
Have you ever done that...completely start over with a new look?
Do you get attached to something that you have for decor and don't think you can part with it?
What do you think?

Girl's Camp Crafts

Girl's Camp is over = Stress is over...for the moment!

I had 6 different crafts for the girls to work on.  The YW were all so good and most of all respectful, which is always nice when you are dealing with hot glue guns.

Here are two of the projects for you to see:
Satin Flowers
I taught them how to make the satin flowers that you "burn" the edges.
They had 6 colors of satin to choose from {red, yellow, orange, green, blue & purple, cut into 8x10 sheets for easy handling}.
I only had 2 candles going because I didn't want to burn down the lodge...
It was fun to watch them mix and match the colors to make their flowers.
This is a picture of a girl that really got into it...I thought it was cute that she put all of them in her hair.  She used the vintage buttons that I brought from my stash to embellish the middle.

Wooden Pendant Craft
 I just always think that you need at least one jewelry type craft.  This was a super, easy one for them to make and to show off their personality.  This is actually the one that my mom made.  I wish I would've gotten a picture of a girl that had made several of them and had them look like bangles on her necklace.
All you need:
Wooden Disk {I got it at Hobby Lobby in their unfinished wood section}
Scrapbook Paper
Paint
Mod Podge {if they want to use paper}
Jump Rings {hot glued on back}
Embellishments
Ribbon/Twine
Beads
Stickers
At the last minute, I typed up some random words for them to cut up and paste on their pendant.
{like Faith, Love, Bloom, Be True, Create, Unique, Explore and so on...}
 There we are...my mom and I after the first day of crafts, we were pretty sweaty...my hair was sticking to my face.  That is the main reason why I hate camping is the humidity and instant sweat.  Thankfully the next day was cooler...
I would not have been able to do all of the crafts for the YW without my mom!
She is the biggest help and loves being at Girls Camp.
When my siblings and I were little, we always enjoyed mom being gone for a week to girls camp because my dad would feed us cake for breakfast, take us to amusement parks and play the whole time; party when momma is out of the house!
 So, last Tuesday I just got all comfortable in my bed, ready to go to sleep and then all of the sudden it sounded like our roof was about to tear off!  The rain and wind was so bad that I couldn't see outside...it doesn't help my anixety of bad weather that lightning struck in our backyard.  The first thing I thought about were the girls & leaders at camp and also my oldest son at Scout Camp.  Bill and I got on our knees to pray for protection for all of those out in the elements.  We knew this crazy storm was headed their way.
The next day was when my mom and I were heading up to camp, there were tons of trees down and debris all over.  We get to camp {an hour away} and found out that a tree fell on a tent from my ward.  The leaders heard that a bad storm was coming and gathered the whole stake in the lodge.  It was a good thing because 3 of our YW would've not made it if they were in that tent.  Very humbling and also so grateful that our prayers were heard and answered!  In this picture they had already cleared a lot and pulled out the tent.
I will post my other projects later...
Have a wonderful weekend!

June...slow down!!

Okay...seriously!  I don't want the summer
to fly by too fast {I know it isn't technically summer, it feels like it outside.}

 This week is YW Girl's Camp for my church that I am in charge of the crafts for.  I am way behind getting things ready for it because I was sick this past weekend.  I have my son helping me with the kits right now, I bribed him with a Sonic Slushy {it works!}.
I will have more pictures of the YW crafts that I will be teaching hopefully tomorrow.

This is the June page of the Canvas Corp Calendar that I made...

Spring Wreath and Flea Market Stuff...

I am super late posting this project since it says Spring, it is almost summer
{it feels like it}
and I am about to change out the embellishment for the 4th of July.

My cute friend, Ashley, came over a few weeks ago
 and we made coffee filter wreaths together, super easy but time consuming!
 It looks like something you can eat, like a meringue.
 I sent more items to sell at my local flea market, I love these glass containers that I bought for Kate's birthday party...I just don't have anywhere to store them.  So, I made cute tags to put on them with a little ribbon.  Hopefully they will sell, who knows!

Enjoy your day.

Girl's Camp Crafts...again

So, I have been asked once again this year to be in charge of Girl's Camp Crafts for my Stake {church group}. This year they were nice enough to give me a budget of $250 to come up with several crafting projects. I have designed 6 projects, I had many ideas but I had to just keep it to a minimum. There will be about 175 girls, plus leaders that may want to craft.

My mom is nice to be my Assistant again, bless her heart! :)

We will be up for 2 days and 1 night...I am not a camper, so this is big for me!

One of the projects is a little wall hanging with the 13th Article of Faith. I have been collecting cereal boxes to have as the base for it I am thinking that it will be a finished size of 7"x9". The girls will alter the base with scrapbook paper, bling and etc. then have this in the middle:

If you would like a copy of this, just leave a comment with your email and I will send you the .JPG that has 5 on one sheet to have printed out. It's simple and cheap! :)

I will be sharing the other crafts that I have planned for them soon.

If you are in charge of the crafts also, I would love to see what you are doing too!

Have a wonderful weekend!
