I wanted to share the pictures from our RS night last Thursday
{I would've posted sooner but I was having computer problems over the weekend}.
It was a success! We spent tons of hours on this to get it all put together! It was just me {Meeting Leader}, the counselor over me {Kelly} and our 2 Enrichment board members. We had help with setting up & taking down.
{It is hard to get a good picture inside the church sometimes, so forgive me for the quality of pictures...it was 100x better in person!!}
If you are interested in more information about our event, leave a comment with your email and I will send you the details.
Williams-Sonoma donated some bags and recipe cards. We also had some coupons and sample lotions inside. They were able to get hand-outs in each class they attended.
I used my cricut to cut out the letters...and did the streamer ruffle treatment around the edges.
A sister in our ward is an event planner and she had the bar & tiki bar on hand for us to use.
We had pretzels, cinnamon rolls, pizza, lemonade...the typical food court food. We didn't have a dinner before, just refreshments after. Even though we announced, emailed, hand-out about not having a dinner we still had complaints that we had only refreshments at the end. We didn't start until 7pm. I guess some people have to complain about something...right? So, if you do this theme ever...look out for hungry sisters! ;)
We had several donated items that we were able to giveaway; like a dustbuster, nice toaster, toys and more.
We had a table with Emergency Prepardness information. We also had information about weather from our local weather station. We get really bad weather during this time of year.
This is our "Junk in the Trunk" Thrift Store area that is for people to bring the items they don't need anymore and for those people that can use it, they just take it {I got a cute pair of capris and a skirt}. We usually call this our Provident Living Table. We organized it a little more than we usually do. Whatever is leftover we take to a place where it is donated.
That trunk is mine, it was my mom's when she went to college.
A sister in our ward sells Modbe clothes and she had the racks and forms to hang the clothes on.
We divided the sisters into 3 groups to rotate through the classes.
This was our Family class about bringing our families together.
We tried our best to make it look like a kitchen table. I used small grapevine wreaths as napkin holders.
We positioned the chairs to make a "U" around the kitchen table.
We had it set up in the RS room. We miss having those dividers that the church used to have. We brought a lot of items from home to display!!
This is my apron that my talented sister-in-law made for me! I LOVE it!
This is Yahui's apron from Anthropology that I had to show because it was soooo cute!!!
This picture is of Sara and her family, Sara was so gracious to come from another ward and teach us about gathering families together! Sara was one of the first people I met when we moved here and she is amazing & has a beautiful/handsome family!
I painted these posters the night before, I should've procrastinated to finish them or they would've been soooo much better!
This is the class about not judging others {don't judge another until you walk in their shoes}
Sarah A. did an awesome job of making us more aware of what we do without thinking about it. She actually called all of the sisters in the ward and asked them what they feel that they are judged about.
Some said "I am shy and others think I am a snob"
"Others think I am too materialistic, yet they don't know that I make or buy things on sale"
"Others give me looks when my kids are going nuts"---{my problem because I am a "Sacrament Widow", my hubby is in the Bishopric}
We have several sisters that have fabulous shoes in the ward that we were able to borrow to display. I used toile and some red burlap. We had this class on the stage and actually had the lights down low for it.
Our "Wireless" store was about improving our communication with our Heavenly Father. I wasn't able to sit in this class, but from what I hear the Bishop really did a fantastic job, we knew he would!
We had a few giveaways in this class because Kelly's neighbor works for a wireless company.
Friday morning this was my van...I had NO energy to barely get my purse out the night before. I didn't get home until 11pm!!
I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into our night, Kelly and I said that we will never bring our house to the church again! :)Linked to:
