Etc...

While going through our stuff and my "stashes" of treasures, I found this fun stitch projects that my mom did for me when I was a wee little lass.  I just think they are so cute!
This one is on a burb cloth.  I need to ask her if she had a pattern to make it.

This is the bib that I am sure I drooled quite a bit on it...:)

 I just have to say that Space Bags are awesome.  I was able to get a lot of our linens and blankets condensed to save space!!  Love it!

Things to do...

My friend, Leslie {aka the Maestro}, is coming over tomorrow for us to alter these $1.00 necklaces.  Yes, I bought these necklaces & bracelets all for a $1.00 each at a new little store in town {My hands felt really dirty when I left...you know that kind of store...I lysol-ed them down just in case}
I went to HobLob last night and got a selection of fabric & some tulle to make the fabric rose necklaces like you can find on http://www.etsy.com/:  {search under fabric rose necklaces}
I want to do something bright & funky...so hopefully I will have something to show tomorrow!
While at the HobLob, I always have to go down the 66% off isles, now they are marked down to 80% off.
I found this paper towel holder for $1.60 that I thought would be perfect to keep my ribbons that are still on a roll {I got 4 of them!}  That ribbon 50% and soooo cute!  I have matching fabric too!
Enjoy!

Craft Storage can be fun...

I love using different things to "store" my embellishments in.  Don't get me wrong, plastic containers are functional...but not cute!
I found this little silver cup at a place called The Funky Monkey while visiting my sister in Texas.  It is very Funky in there, seriously.
These buttons are from the company I used to design for {oneheart...onemind}.  The owner of the company had a vintage bracelet that she reproduced into Scrapbook embellishments.  Way cute...but I am pretty sure that they are not made anymore.
Another find at my local flea market...it is an old Ball jar & came with tons of buttons.
Have a good one!

Getting There...Scrap Room Organizing

First of all, I found this repo-postcard at my local flea market...I had to get it because I am SOOOO looking forward to Spring!!
I also found this baby, a 9 section tray for storing my stuff.  I think it was orginally put on the wall and used as a display box.  Yep, I filled it up.  I have 2 other trays that look like this in the works, I am a collector almost more than a scrapper!
I am seriously embarrassed to show you this picture.  This is about 2/3 of my stuff before I started going through it yesterday.  I threw a lot of stuff away, lots of packaging that was not needed.  Then I also found a lot of duplicates of X-acto knives, adhesives, modge podge bottles and etc.
My stuff has been in the 4 corners of our house...now coming together makes me so happy.
That big ol' black thing in our corner is our computer armoire that I love but have decided that we are going to sell it and simplify to a laptop.  {it has shutter doors on the front}

Baby Steps to Organizing my Stuff...

I just got out a few things that I want to use as storage.  I figured that if I have a plan set out and places to put things {when I drag them out of the corners of the house} that the process will go smoother than my normal chaos.
My mom-in-law gave me this beauty for Christmas {from Tai-Pan Trading}.  It can hold cards, pictures & just about anything.  I am thinking of putting it here.
I want to make liners for the old footlockers {like from Pottery Barn, click here}.  I got the red and white magazine holders from IKEA for way cheap, I need more!  An old collander holds quite a bit of this and that.  I got the little red organizer at REAL DEALS while visiting my sister in Texas.  I can just go crazy in that store!!  The small wire baskets are from HobLob and I got them for about 50 cents.
I have no idea what this piece of furniture is supposed to be for, but it fits the photo boxes perfectly!
I know that all of this will change about a dozen times before it is workable.  Most of all I hope that I remember where I put everything.

Organizing: Scrapbook Stuff & Books

Today, I have been organizing in my bedroom.  It is a disaster area right now {I am too embarrassed to even take a picture of it!}.  We gave our oldest one of our bookcases for his books and I have been consolidating our books into one bookcase.  I have been getting rid of books & papers that we don't need any more.  Lots of work {& dust!}.

A couple of years ago, I got this organizer tray from my local flea market.  It has been nice to have a lot of my embellishments out in the open to use.  I can't wait to get it into my new space!
A lot of you have seen using muffin tins as holders for wonderful junk!! :)  I LOVE JUNK!
Enjoy your day!

Organizing & Cooking: Switching bedrooms & Homemade Pizza

Today I decided to switch Baby K's room with Big A's room.  Her room was bigger and with Big A almost 12 years old, it was time for him to have a larger space for his stuff & his "bigger" friends.
Baby K's room will need:  To be painted & I need to finish her curtains...
Big A's room will need:  Bookshelf, Paint shelf, and make a frame for the large mountain poster.
It will soon hopefully be fabulous for both of them...
{they both have tons of stuff, so it was a great opportunity to purge!}
I tried my friend's pizza dough recipe.
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 TBSP yeast
1/2 tsp salt
3-4 c. flour
Let rise.  Bake at 375 degrees.
It was good, but I think next time I will try my other friend's recipe that includes honey in it!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Organize Day #4: Magazines

I found a fun website http://www.wordle.net/.  You can put in words, your blog address or a website & it will scramble it up in a fun way.  The one on the left is the "The Family: A Proclamation to the World" that I found that someone did, it is from my church {LDS} that I thought was awesome.  The one on the right is one that I made by typing in words {some of my goals for '10}

Today I went through my magazines and ripped out the pages that I wanted to keep.
I LOVE MAGAZINES!!
I am a little obsessed!  I found some cute folders in the $1.00 bin at Target, so I am going to be more organized with the pages that I keep for reference.  It was good timing because I found a couple of ideas that I want to use in my craft room.

Hopefully this weekend we will be able to paint and really get my room put together.  I am getting excited to get my stuff out of all of my hiding places, purge and then organize in a fun way!
Enjoy your day!
