Chunky Burlap

Maybe I just like the word Chunky...like Chunky Babies, Chunky Chocolate Ice Cream, Chunky Salsa and now I will add to it Chunky Stretched Burlap!!

I made this for the Canvas Corp packaging picture for their Chunky Burlap.

It actually fits my home decor...I wanted to keep it! :)

I used Chalkstock on this project so you could change the saying or "title" of the decor for seasonal or misc things.

 I used the Tissuestock as a part of the little posey that I made...love that stuff!!

Button Love

I made this simple Button art using random vintage buttons that I have in my stash and attached them to a Canvas Corp Burlap Stretched Canvas 8"x8" {link to purchase}

I used to play in my grandma and mom's button collection for hours and hours!  It was like a treasure hunt everytime I would play in them.  I catch myself still playing with buttons!

Spring Banner Wall Hanging

I made this wall hanging using Canvas Corp's 18"x18" Burlap Stretched Canvas, a perfect size for designing with the Canvas shapes.

For the scalloped border, I cut the bottom half of a Canvas mini heart shape and attached it all around to frame the pennants.

The great thing about this project is that each pennant can have is its own personality.

The key is to add layers of product for the dimension factor!

You can't go wrong with a tiny pennant on a pennant!

Burlap Contest Winners

The Wedding Watch Party!!

Wasn't Princess Kate stunning today, I also think Prince William was dashing himself!

It was fun at the party even though I wasn't able to stick around for too long.

I just wanted to share with you the photos of the decorations that were made

for the big day!

When I was making this banner, I thought everything needs just

a touch of burlap...

This was the embellishment on the coffee filter wreath that Jessica made for the front door.

I used Canvas Corp burlap shaped heart as a perfect backdrop to the royal couple.

This was the refreshment table, the color of Alicia's dining room was perfect for the royal wedding also. Jessica found these faux branches at Hobby Lobby that we hung pictures of William and Kate plus some extended family on it. We added a little bit of chandelier crystals to it for a fancy touch.

On some of the tags, with the help of my sister...Janis, we added a coffee filter to create a wedding dress look, just for fun!

I just adore this picture of Princess Diana and her boys, she was such an amazing mother to them. Simple addition to the bottom of the branches was a strip of burlap tied into a knot with a painted {canvas corp} canvas mini heart with W & K initials on it. I also used a Canvas Corp mini clothespin and covered it with bling.

Jessica found these monogram sandwich picks at Hobby Lobby for her cucumber sandwiches, yum!

The ultimate was this fabulous Donut Wedding Cake...

Here are the little favor bags filled with the pearl-like Sixlets.

Here is a glimpse of Jessica {left} and Janis wearing their hats to celebrate the occasion.

A Sneak Peek to William & Kate's Wedding Party Decorations

This is a little part of a wreath with William & Kate's engagement photo.

It says "Wuv, True Wuv" a tribute to The Princess Bride movie...

I used bling embellishments to try to make a mini British flag on the tag.

This is a tiny part of the big centerpiece that we made...

I can't wait to show you tomorrow!!

This is a sneak peek of her special hat that she will be stylin' at
the party at 9am in the morning.
She will be the talk of the town...like she is already.

I will have a post tomorrow in the afternoon of what the

party looks like finished.

Spring Burlap Banner

Who doesn't love a sweet Spring banner on their mantle?

This was a fun one to create...maybe it was the colors

that make me happy!

I do have to show you what I used for the grass.  I used Canvas Corp Canvas Mini Star

shape, painted it 2 different colors {DecoArt:  Avocado Dip & Hauser Light Green}. 

 Then I folded it in half and ta-da you have a piece of grass!!

This is a picture of a canvas shape before and then what it looks as grass!

 I used Bahama blue and free-handed the letters...you can stencil or do whatever for the letters.

Burlap Framed Nest

that came together quickly...my speed!

Kate's Birthday Decor, Part 3

I know, I am slow getting these pictures out of Kate's Birthday...

I actually had this frame hanging on this wall already with
a wreath hanging in the middle.

I have been wanting to change it, so this was a good time to start!

I found this fabulous, large letter "K" at my favorite Flea Market.

It fit perfectly hanging in this frame. Then I took Canvas Corp's mini canvas

round shapes and attached it using FabricTac adhesives all around the frame.

Canvas Corp also sells mesh in a lot of different colors. I cut out round circles to layer on top of the canvas circle. then I use Canvas Corp's fabric sheet to cut out 32 circles of burlap. I used a punch to punch out the scrapbook paper shapes and inked the edges just a little. A simple brad is used to hold it together.

It really added some color and whimsy to the decor.

The circles are not all perfect, I planned it that way!

Kate's Birthday Decor, Part 1

Little Miss Kate will turn 2 tomorrow...that is wild and crazy!

So, I am in the middle of making her birthday decor table to hold

the cupcake tree, treats and more.

I am going to show all of the decor in parts because

I do not have everything done yet, I just couldn't

resist to show you this:

Canvas Corp sells cupcake tree "blanks", they come in

Square and Round shapes.

{Scrapbook.com sells the square one here}

They also sell most of the Canvas corp products that I

used to make this.

 I was surprised on how easy it was to cover the stand, I was making it

harder than it was.  I used the Canvas Corp mini burlap & canvas shapes to make

scalloped edges by cutting them in half.  I love using Fabric-Tac glue

{Beacon Adhesives} to attach everything...even the paper!  I guess you can say

that you should use this glue in a well ventilated area...

I got a little light headed using it.:)

 I used the Accu-cut die-cutting system to cut out the cupcake wrappers, birds,

 butterflies and labels.  I especially like using the corkstock by Canvas Corp.

 I used Cosmo Cricket's Tiny Type stickers to spell out words and her name.

 Here is a "bird's eye view" of the stand, all of the papers are Canvas Corp.

I love the pink zebra papers!

Bloom & Grow Banner

This is a banner that I made to attach to my fun little cabinet door that I

got at the flea market. 

It is sitting on my ledge in the entryway to greet our guests...
