Question for all of you DIY-ers...

Ok...I haven't called any painting companies yet to get estimates for painting my cabinets.  I happened to find on someone's blog {I forgot which one} them talking about the new Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformation Kits.  I had to check into it...I am all about saving money when it comes down to it.  I may have to recruit my sisters or sweet talk my dad into helping me if we decide to go this route.  I found this picture of someone's after picture that they posted on the Rust-Oleum website.

If you have tried this product, please give me your feedback on what you thought of it.  I really like the idea of no sanding!

I might just try it out on my kid's bathroom cabinets first and see how it goes...

Just a few items:

I have been working on a lot of upcoming projects for Canvas Corp, so I can't show them yet.  Lots of new and exciting things happening at Canvas Corp...I can't wait to announce them!

I made these flowers for the gals that work with Bill. Pam requested a huge orange/red flower for a hat that she bought on a trip...I still need to make her a huge black and white satin one.  The large flower is about the size of a small saucer plate.  I made the black satin one for Janet, even though she didn't request one...I hope that she likes it!

My little Sam has been so cute, he has been coming up to me asking if he could "decorate" {he means scrap}.  He has been making Go Utah State signs for our fridge, it is covered with signs...I love that he is being creative!  He loves the decorative scissors.  We are soooooo bummed that Utah State barely lost to Auburn last week!  It was such a great game, especially playing the former National Champions! 

 
This is a project I did for Canvas Corp's booth at CHA. That sweet little guy in the picture is my darlin' nephew, Cameron.  He is seriously the cutest thing ever!

I made it using a 12"x12" stretched canvas and layered a 10"x10" stretched canvas on top.  It is a really fun project.

These are Mr. Cameron's hands, his picture is on a 4"x6" stretched canvas.  I would love to cover a wall with all different sizes of canvases just like this!

Featuring My Little Sister Renee & Her Carseat Covers

My little sis, Renee, is getting really good at making carseat covers! She is planning to start a little business selling them {and maybe nursing covers & I am trying to talk her into aprons, too!}.

When she gets up and running I will definitely let you know!!

In her ward, there is always a baby shower going on {at least one a week!}. So, this is a great baby gift!!

I had a plastic envelope that she used to "wrap" the present.

She didn't have a tag or card, so I whipped this tag up really quick for her...

Isn't this darlin'!!!

I wish that I would've had these for my first 3 dudes!

This is a picture of the one she made for a friend last week.  She came up with the idea of having a button hole in the middle for the toys to be able to go through for the baby to play with.  Genius!

Teacher Appreciation & Baby Boy Showers

Just a little something to share today...

This is the Teacher Appreciation present for my son's 1st Grade Teacher.

I made her a silk flower that can be worn as a barrett or a brooch & a gift card to Borders.

When I took this picture the coloring was a little off...it looks better in real life!

This week I was invited to 2 Baby Boy showers.

For Janell's baby, my sister and I went in on several things for her.  I thought it would be fun to use a square cloth bin for her "basket", that way she can use it for storage.  I thought it would be fun to have a tag hanging from the handle...My sister found really cute outfits for the little guy at Sam's Club.

Craft: Diaper Cake {Day14}

I decorated my first diaper cake last night for a friend who is having her first little one.   Whenever I saw a diaper cake at a shower, I was always a little intimated for some reason.  It was actually quite fun to decorate.  {I love the name Max!}

My sister constructed the tiers of rolled diapers and used rubberbands to group them together.

I used Word to print little sayings.  I used Script MT Bold font.  I have had these chipboard labels for a while and was excited to finally use them for something.  I could see if the font was the right size by just putting the chipboard label up to the screen.

Yes, that is burlap...how can I do a project this week without using it!!!  I just covered the base that my sister had, it was just a side of a diaper box!

The second tier is a receiving blanket that I got at Target for $2!!  I used all hot glue!  I think my fingertips are getting used to the heat...the heat of crafting!

A couple of years ago I finally learned how to make a bow that looks semi-pro.  I think that the ribbon I used was perfect for making this bow, it didn't have wire.

The top tier is a gift box {target} that we put additional presents in.  I really like how it turned out masculine for a little guy.
