Houndstooth Happiness

Today no creative projects, saying good-bye to loved ones and feeling not 100%.  Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to start organizing my scrapbook/craft stuff into my new room.

I have always loved houndstooth patterns, I actually have some black & white houndstooth fabric waiting on me to re-upholster a rocking chair.  There is something about the classic, timeless quality of this pattern.  It is so fantastic to see it in fun, bright colors.  Like these from

This was a fun little find from etsy seller OhHiShop:  Check it out!
When you look at the houndstooth individually, it is kinda weird shaped...but all together it is amazing!

Wet Paint...first look

Mr. B and I stayed up way past our bedtimes to get the Entryway & Craft Room painted.  We still have some touch ups to do plus paint the beadboard.  With company coming in tonight, we had to do what we could.
I am pleased with the neutral colors that I finally chose.  I just see it as a clean slate for adding color and etc!
Have a delightful weekend!!!

Bow Holder for Baby K's bows...

I have mentioned before that I have 3 handsome dudes and then had a little girl last year.  It was a new experience and color in our house.  I was used to sports, boy stuff...I was an all boy mom and loved it!  We have enjoyed having a little diva {she is already drama} in the house.

One of the new things for me are hairbows.  I am still learning all of the fun things that you can make and put into their hair.  I have collected quite a few as you can tell so, I needed a way to keep them organized and where I can see them easily.

We had chicken wire in the shed, I had this frame with corkboard in it that had seen better days and then Mr B. got the staple gun & combined them two to create this:  {about $5 project because I got this frame years ago at DI for $2, it measures 25"x37"}

Almost there...Craft Room

Mr. B took work off today to finish the room.
I never want to see putty, sandpaper, nail sinking tools again!
We are amateurs at this, so it really is looking good for a couple of regular ol' DIY-ers like us.  We have never installed door casings before.
After we paint and get my stuff moved in, we are going to put a window above the french doors.
I ordered these classic glass knobs from http://www.lookintheattic.com/ for a really good price!  I can't wait to get them on the doors!
Enjoy your day!

a Rosette and finally picked paint!!

I made this little pretty yesterday when I was in Baby K's room, I love how fast it is to make these.  I found this glass at my local flea market, I know that it has a name...does anyone know?
UPDATED:  I knew that my Flea Friend, Debbie, would know {because I bought it from her}...It is called a
BOOPIE GLASS

My hubby bought the paint last night...he is taking work off tomorrow to complete the room.
I picked Softer Tan {Sherwin Williams} for my craft room &
Macadamia {Sherwin Williams} for the entry above the beadboard.
It is definitely neutral, on the safe side.  I just figured that it would be a good backdrop for all of the fun stuff I want to put on the walls!!!

Baby K's room, Scrapbooking & Craft Room Update

I am finally getting around to doing some decorating in Baby K's room.  I know that this set up with change, but for now it works.
I eventually will paint in here something like Palladian Blue from Benjamin Moore.
I got these curtains at IKEA thinking they would be for my craft room.  Then I decided that they will be perfect in her room.  {Matilda Curtains}

Um, Yeah...Unplanned Project for Mr. B on Saturday.  He was taking the baseboards off and the sheetrock in one area caved in, then we found that there had been previous water damage.  So, he had to replace the whole area underneath the window {8' long}.  He ended up having to go to Home Depot twice.  He got a lot done, but we still have a lot to go!
See that Yucky Gold Color, the previous owners {Mr. B used to work with}, painted the whole house in this color thinking that it would be a "neutral" color to help sale it.  It was a nasty gold color, it was seriously gross...thankfully I saw past that and painted the whole house before we moved in, there was no way that I would've been able to live with that color.  {this picture doesn't give it justice for how gross it was!}
I worked on my friend's baby scrapbook because they are moving this week and I had to get it back to her.  {I covered her little face because I didn't ask for permission to show her picture, I wanted to just show you one of the 13 layouts I finished on Friday!}  She is seriously a cute baby!
I hope you have a fabulous day!

Playroom Window & a Card

Since we have been working mainly on the entryway and craft room, I really haven't been creative everyday.  This is a project I did a couple of years ago for the boy's playroom.
Old window, spray painted it Navy Blue, Vinyl Letters...That's it!
I just sent this to my friend for her birthday, I actually made it a couple of years ago.  I need to make a new stash of cards to have on hand.
Enjoy your weekend!

Craft Project: "10 days of Valentine's" Swap

Today I hosted a little Valentine's Swap with a couple of my friends.  We all came up with 2 Valentine's Gifts for our hubby's and made 5 of each to swap with each other.  That way we each have 10 days worth of fun Valentine's to hide in our hubby's car, drawer, pockets or wherever.  One of the gal's wasn't able to make it, so I will post her Valentine's later.
Here are the two I made:
Your love is so 'Refreshing'  {car freshener}
and I'm crazy 'fore' you {golf tees}
Other Valentine gift sayings:
You bring joy to my life {almond joy}
I Chew-se you! {Gum}
I'm nuts about you {Peanuts in a shell}
You warm my heart {hand warmer--camping}
I have enjoyed the "mix" on the "trail" of life with you {Trail mix bar}
Dove chocolates in a cupcake holder
I bought these brushes from http://www.houseof3.com/ today for the labels.
I LOVE their website, they have a lot of fun digital items as well as hybrid.  Check it out!

I hope that my hubby doesn't look at this post...I am starting the "10 days of Valentine's" tomorrow!

What fun things are you doing for your Valentine's this year?

Home Improvement & Inspirations

While we were working on this last night, I thought maybe I should've sanded and at least primed before we put these boards up.  Mr. B and I are both inexperienced in doing these types of projects, so most of the time we are livin' & learnin'.
Mr. B has church stuff tonight that he has to do, so if the kiddos will let me I would love to get it all primed tonight.  Fingers crossed.  We still have one little piece of moulding still to put on the picture ledge.
I love going over to Elizabeth Kartchner's blog and seeing all of the cool things that she is up to.  She always has a great sense of style and color.  She has a new line of scrapbook products out.  I was totally inspired by her picture wall here at her CHA booth, would love to do something like this somewhere in my house!
I really need to just buy this fabric ASAP from Heather Bailey.  Another fun gal that knows style!  I don't know what exactly I would do with it...bulletin board, something for Baby K, covering my worn computer chair...whatever it is I need  to just get it!

Organizing: Scrapbook Stuff & Books

Today, I have been organizing in my bedroom.  It is a disaster area right now {I am too embarrassed to even take a picture of it!}.  We gave our oldest one of our bookcases for his books and I have been consolidating our books into one bookcase.  I have been getting rid of books & papers that we don't need any more.  Lots of work {& dust!}.

A couple of years ago, I got this organizer tray from my local flea market.  It has been nice to have a lot of my embellishments out in the open to use.  I can't wait to get it into my new space!
A lot of you have seen using muffin tins as holders for wonderful junk!! :)  I LOVE JUNK!
Enjoy your day!
