Halloween Wreath

I made this "scary" wreath today!
I love the brightness of the orange with the contrasting black! :)

I used a graphic from the Graphics Fairy for the middle of the wreath.  The wreath is a 10" size.  I just wrapped the fabric around it and did a basic square knot.
It is a fun decoration companion to my Halloween front door decor here
Enjoy!

My Birthday...

Last Saturday was my birthday
{that I share with my mom and sis-in-law}.
This is what Bill got for me.
I am finally on the Smartphone level. :)
I was having to text like I was in the Stone Ages, not anymore.
I have been busy finding fun apps to load.
What are your favorite Apps on your phone?  Please Share!!
I have this same exact Otterbox, Bill already had the all black one.  I really wanted a red one, but I think this one is cute too!  {if otterboxes can be cute...}

Then Bill took me to PF Changs for dinner.
I stuffed myself {I hardly ate all day, looking forward to this dinner & that I can afford the calorie intake}
We had the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, I saw that they have copycat recipes online that I will have to try out.
This was my birthday "cake".
Delicious & Divine...the Triple Chocolate Mousse Mini Dessert:
I had a fabulous birthday...I was spoiled by my family & friends! :)
I have some projects up my sleeve for this week, I am just crossing my fingers that I can have the time to get them done because I am so excited about them!!!

A Present for my Sweet Friend...

I'm not quite sure if my friend, Rachelle, reads this blog or not...but if so, pretend like it is a surprise when you get it in the mail!  Rachelle and I met each other our freshman year at Utah State back in '92.  My southern accent was so thick that she thought my name was "Jenae" not "Jenny" {like how Forrest Gump says it}.  We had a good laugh when I finally told her months later that my name was "Jenny"...not "Jenae". :)

I thought it would be fun to make her a bracelet/brooch for her birthday {a 2 in 1 present}!  The pictures really do not do it justice...it is very elegant in person.  It was one of those presents that I was tempted to keep it myself  {that is when you know it is a really good present to give, right? :)}
I started out with a bracelet that I found at Walmart...
This is how the brooch attaches to the bracelet {I'm sure that you already figured that out!}
I just had to try it on...
Happy Birthday Rachelle!

Front Door: Happy Haunting

**Featured on iVillage
{The Best DIY Halloween Decor
from Around the Web }**

I finally made my Halloween Front Door Decor today when Kate was taking a nap.
I really like how it turned out, even though it wasn't what I was planning on doing in the first place.
I have other plans up my sleeve with using that fun Orange with white polka dot fabric!!
The middle of the bat is from a card that I made years ago and I just "repurposed" it.
It says "Happy Haunting" with orange bling around it.
I printed off the bat from Graphics Fairy.  She has some fabulous Halloween Pictures to download!
I traced my patterns onto my trusty ol' foam core that I always have around.
I used a Christmas Magnet board that I have as a template for the background.  I always thought it looked like Halloween design to me. :)
Have a great day!

A BIG flower for my Belt...

I have seen these flowers around the crafty blogs and
have been wanting to make a super large one for a pillow.
Late Saturday night, I decided that I needed to make something for my all black dress for Sunday.
It is about 5 1/2" in diameter...yes, it is a big one! :)
I used just one sheet of red felt {20 cents at walmart}.
There are 3 layers of petals.
The middle petal is actually a circle that I folded.
I hot glued all of the petals onto a large felt circle.
Then I added a barrett to help me attach it to my belt!
Super Duper Easy...I will definitely be making more of these!

Have a beautiful day!

What I've been up to, besides being a mom of 4...

I have been a slacker again about posting.  I have been crazy busy with every aspect of my life, I know that all of you can understand completely! :)
Leslie and I had a booth at a consignment sale with my sister and sister-in-law.
We made an assortment of hair accessories.
This is what didn't sale and is now for sale at our local flea market.
We decided to do the booth about 2 weeks before, so we were in a mad rush to make over 200 items.
I told my mom that if I ever had the thought to do a booth again to knock me over my head and remind me of how stressful it is!! :)
I am trying to do what my signs says "Live Simply"!
This is my small mudroom/laundry room that is also a hallway that leads to the garage.
I was wanting something a little more wood/worn for my shelving, but until I find the perfect piece, this will do.  I bought it at Lowe's today...super easy to put together.
While I was loading the box into my cart, on the other side of the isle I spotted these fabulous metal buckets.  They were only $7 each, cheaper than a lot of the woven baskets that I was checking out.
Then, I went down the "numbers" isle by the mailboxes and grabbed these numbers.  So, each kid has a number according to their birth.  I put Kate up top because I figured that I would be reaching for her stuff right now.  I was tired of tripping over shoes and backpacks!
I look forward to having everything in its place!  Crossing fingers!
This is the before shot.  I am planning on Bill {he doesn't know yet} to put up some beadboard and rearrange the hooks for the coats...so I will have updates soon!
It is not a very big area...in my dream house I will have a separate room that is dedicated to the mudroom and laundry...I will be dreamin' for a long time!
Kate and I had a field trip to HobLob today...only to buy 1 item.
I came home with more, as always!
I have to make something festive for my front door.
I have something in mind, I hope that it turns out!
One more little Magnolia Junk item that we altered using burnt satin roses!  The picture really doesn't do it justice...it really is cute! :)
Have a fabulous weekend!

Olivia's Creation

I just have to share my sis-in-law's creative project.  She found these "O's" at an antique shop in Ithaca, NY while visiting her Grandparents.  Then she cut out images from a Martha Stewart magazine and attached it to the back.  I love how it turned out and it was a simple project to do!
This is what it looks like hanging up!
LOVE it!!
Thanks for letting me share, Olivia!!

My Favorite Thing in my Craft Room!!!

I found this AWESOME Vintage Scale a couple of weeks ago at my favorite flea market.
I was freaking out when I saw it because I have wanted one for sooooo long! :)
I am going to get back to craftin' more soon!  I promise!
It has been crazy here!  My 2 little guys started school last week and my oldest starts junior high next week.  I have a new calling in the Young Womens as the Secretary.  My hubby will be starting a new and exciting job on Monday...so a lot of changes around here.  Just wrapping my wee head around everything.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

Nauvoo Trip and Wall Decor

We just got back from a family vacation with Bill's Family to a few Church History sites.  We stayed a few days and Nauvoo, Ill.  The temple there is gorgeous!!!  We were able to go to the Nauvoo Pagant while we were there.
Here are a couple of pictures that I took of the Temple, I had fun on photoshop with them!
Before we left on vacation I finished this wall, I just didn't have time to blog about it.
I had all of the frames, I just had to spray paint them black!
Then I lined a foam core poster with burlap.
The wreath holder is from RodWorks.
I did a little iron-on directly on the burlap.
I got the birdcage and the label from Graphics Fairy.
I used houndstooth scrapbook paper behind the iron-on.
I typed in the scroll label "Las Luces...Juntos Para Siempre".
Which means "the lights...Together Forever"
If y'all know me you can see something that looks familiar...
My hubby served a mission for our church in Argentina, so it was fun to add in the spanish in my decor.
I hope y'all are having a fabulous summer!

I think I made a LARGE Rosette! {more Magnolia Junk!}

I taught the ladies at "enrichment night" last night how to make these rolled rosettes.  I decided at the last minute to make one large one that has several {around 8 or so} long strips of fabric going round and round.
I love how this turned out for Kate's room.
I have had that striped pillow forever and I am glad that it has new life!!
Today's teaser for the stuff we have been doing over at Magnolia Junk!!
Leslie and I are going to go to Eclipse tonight!!  For some reason Bill isn't interested in seeing it....:)
