Scary Mini Banner

I made a quick 10-minute mini banner today.  It has seriously been one of those days with my 2-year old that I had to focus on something that was fast!  Mostly because Kate needs 24/7 surveillance, she is into everything! :)  I am trying to enjoy this season of having a 2-year old!

I just love Canvas Corp's Chalkstock tags, especially the triangle shaped one.

Mr. Spider...Bead Art

I have been wanting to make Mr. Spider for a while, I finally sat down and made him!

 While I was online looking for a good spider for inspiration, I found this cross stitch pattern.

I just used a little sharpie pen and made tiny dots on the orange satin to mark my pattern

{I "eye balled" it, so it isn't perfect at all!}.

I had to make it smaller because
I have a small frame to put it in.

 Once I got in my groove sewing the tiny beads, it didn't take too long!  Super easy project to do!

Halloween...Simple Garland

I made a simple Halloween garland for my entryway cabinet. 

I didn't want it to be too busy since I have a lot going on anyway!

 Of course, I found my graphics from The Graphics Fairy.  Karen has tons of fun images to play with!  You have to go and visit her!  {Click here for her link!}

It was so easy to make!  I just added some glitter and bling...

Misc. Halloween Items

I love to collect keys!  You have to have a Skeleton Key for Halloween! :)

This key had a weird color/finish on it, all I did was spray paint it with matte paint and put a little silver touches to it.

This is the lamp that I spray painted the other day a glossy black.  {see here for the before picture at the end of the post}

I made the lamp shade several months ago and it fits perfect with my Halloween theme!

 Here is Mr. Skeleton...he has a tag that says "Happy Halloween". 

{he will be at the Flea Market next week!}

 Mr. Glitter!  I can just see that he is delivering a message to someone to go to a haunted mansion!

 Leslie did some magic yesterday.  She added a rosette to the top of my croche!

A Framed Napkin...yes, I framed a napkin!!

I would've never thought about using a napkin in my decor...but it works.

I found this napkin at Walmart and thought is was too cute to be used as a napkin!  I had an extra frame just like the one I used for my Spider Web String Art that I got from Goodwill...the fit was perfect!

This was the quickest project ever!! :)

Spider Web String Art

 My first attempt at String Art...I am quite certain that there is a technique to it, but sometimes I just go with it!  I was looking at a spider web the other day and it reminded me about the string/wire art that my mom had in the house when I was little.

This would be a fun project to do with your kids!

 Here is a side view of it.  I just used items that I had on hand to do this project!   Goodwill $1 frame, foam core, black burlap, tiny pins, orange embroidery floss and ribbon. 

 I just googled "spider web" and printed off this web for inspiration.

 A random tag that I made from scraps of this and that to attach to my tall silver candlestick from IKEA.  I wish that I bought more of them!

Yesterday I had a spray painting party in my garage.  I think my neighbors think I like the smell of spray paint or something because they always see me working on these projects!

All of these items are from Goodwill...

The large apple bushels are now black and on either side of my front door waiting for something to be put inside.

The lamp is now black and I am going to put it in Bill's new office at work

Halloween Wreath

I made this "scary" wreath today!

I love the brightness of the orange with the contrasting black! :)

  I used a graphic from the Graphics Fairy for the middle of the wreath.  The wreath is a 10" size.  I just wrapped the fabric around it and did a basic square knot.

It is a fun decoration companion to my Halloween front door decor here.

{The Best DIY Halloween Decor

I finally made my Halloween Front Door Decor today when Kate was taking a nap.

I really like how it turned out, even though it wasn't what I was planning on doing in the first place.

I have other plans up my sleeve with using that fun Orange with white polka dot fabric!!

The middle of the bat is from a card that I made years ago and I just "repurposed" it. 

It says "Happy Haunting" with orange bling around it.

I printed off the bat from Graphics Fairy.  She has some fabulous Halloween Pictures to download!

I traced my patterns onto my trusty ol' foam core that I always have around.

I used a Christmas Magnet board that I have as a template for the background.  I always thought it looked like Halloween design to me. :)
