A Present for my Sweet Friend...

I'm not quite sure if my friend, Rachelle, reads this blog or not...but if so, pretend like it is a surprise when you get it in the mail!  Rachelle and I met each other our freshman year at Utah State back in '92.  My southern accent was so thick that she thought my name was "Jenae" not "Jenny" {like how Forrest Gump says it}.  We had a good laugh when I finally told her months later that my name was "Jenny"...not "Jenae". :)

I thought it would be fun to make her a bracelet/brooch for her birthday {a 2 in 1 present}!  The pictures really do not do it justice...it is very elegant in person.  It was one of those presents that I was tempted to keep it myself  {that is when you know it is a really good present to give, right? :)}
I started out with a bracelet that I found at Walmart...
This is how the brooch attaches to the bracelet {I'm sure that you already figured that out!}
I just had to try it on...
Happy Birthday Rachelle!

Teacher Appreciation & Baby Boy Showers

Just a little something to share today...
This is the Teacher Appreciation present for my son's 1st Grade Teacher.
I made her a silk flower that can be worn as a barrett or a brooch & a gift card to Borders.
When I took this picture the coloring was a little off...it looks better in real life!
This week I was invited to 2 Baby Boy showers.
For Janell's baby, my sister and I went in on several things for her.  I thought it would be fun to use a square cloth bin for her "basket", that way she can use it for storage.  I thought it would be fun to have a tag hanging from the handle...My sister found really cute outfits for the little guy at Sam's Club.
This is the card I made for Lindsey's baby boy shower...
Enjoy your weekend!

Cute & Easy "Gift Wrapping"

These are the little gifts that I just sent to my nieces today.
{I also found out that the cute little outfits I bought them they already own...sorry Anna!:)}

Anyway, I am usually a bagger...but today I decided to wrap up the outfits in tissue paper and use these darling ribbons to make a bow with.  I had the cardstock tags already and then I used rub-ons for their names {my favorite rub-ons:  American Crafts KATE font}
Tomorrow I will have the Sassy Gal, Tausha, as my Guest blogger!  She is super-duper talented and has been on Studio5 TV program several times!  I will be over at her blog Sassy Style tomorrow also!
Have a beautiful day!

**Grammie L. Don't Look!!!** I am posting your Mother's Day Gift!!

If by chance Grammie L. sees this post before Mother's Day...it won't be much of a surprise or at least act surprised when you open your present! :)
  But, I had to share what we had made for her by the gals at Lily Lane {http://www.lilylane.com/}.
I actually had them ship it directly to Grammie and then send me a picture of how it turned out.
I sent them a regular size picture via email of the grandkids and then they changed it to black and white.
This is the other side that you can have custom made also!
I thought that Lily Lane did a fabulous job and for a really great price!
I would love to hear from you what you are getting or giving for Mother's Day!!

Craft Project: "10 days of Valentine's" Swap

Today I hosted a little Valentine's Swap with a couple of my friends.  We all came up with 2 Valentine's Gifts for our hubby's and made 5 of each to swap with each other.  That way we each have 10 days worth of fun Valentine's to hide in our hubby's car, drawer, pockets or wherever.  One of the gal's wasn't able to make it, so I will post her Valentine's later.
Here are the two I made:
Your love is so 'Refreshing'  {car freshener}
and I'm crazy 'fore' you {golf tees}
Other Valentine gift sayings:
You bring joy to my life {almond joy}
I Chew-se you! {Gum}
I'm nuts about you {Peanuts in a shell}
You warm my heart {hand warmer--camping}
I have enjoyed the "mix" on the "trail" of life with you {Trail mix bar}
Dove chocolates in a cupcake holder
I bought these brushes from http://www.houseof3.com/ today for the labels.
I LOVE their website, they have a lot of fun digital items as well as hybrid.  Check it out!

I hope that my hubby doesn't look at this post...I am starting the "10 days of Valentine's" tomorrow!

What fun things are you doing for your Valentine's this year?
