Easter Barretts...which one should Baby K wear?

I seriously made these 2 flower barretts in about 30 min., it would have been faster but I was designing as I went.  I was wanting your input on which one Baby K should wear for Easter. {voting on the right hand side or you can leave a comment}
Barrett #1:  Felt with satin {tutorial below with a 2nd look}
or
Barrett #2:  Satin {"burnt edges" style}
This is her simple little dress that I found at TJ Maxx for $20 {great deal for a Ralph Lauren}.
With 3 brothers, I thought this was a perfect match for pictures with them...
A little tutorial on how to make the flowers out of whatever fabric you want.  Here I used felt to make a petal as my base for Barrett #1.
2nd look at Barrett #1:

Pink Fig Patterns...way too cute!!!

I found a link to Pink Fig patterns from a post over at http://www.bluecricketdesign.net/ and I am in LOVE!
Becca at Blue Cricket made her daughter a first birthday outfit that is absolutely darling!
They have so many cute patterns that I NEED to learn to make for Baby K!!
See Here:  PINK FIG
Baby K would look so cute in an outfit like this for her birthday!  I will have to dust off my sewing machine!  Now I need to go look for some fabulous fabrics!  I just found out that JoAnn's Fabric is coming to a town close by!  Yeah!!!
Enjoy!
Updated:  I won a pattern from Pink Fig from Blue Cricket's Blog...Thank you!!!

Red Altered Aprons...

I made these aprons for the 4 of us gals that were in charge of our RS Enrichment night.
I found these aprons on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $2.30 each.
Everything else I had on hand.  So the total for each apron to alter was less than $3.  I love that!!
I hot glued the ribbon and trim to the top of the apron.
The tag is made out of canvas material {if you do this you need to apply fray check to the edges or sew it}
I then cut a rectangle out of the black and white fabric.  I had letters for our first initials that I hot glued on.
I bought a bouquet of white daisies the other day for $1, so I picked a couple of them off for the flower on the bottom.
They turned out soooo cute and fun to wear that night!
Have a fabulous day!

Relief Society Night "Zion's Mall" {photo heavy!}

I wanted to share the pictures from our RS night last Thursday
{I would've posted sooner but I was having computer problems over the weekend}.
It was a success!  We spent tons of hours on this to get it all put together!  It was just me {Meeting Leader}, the counselor over me {Kelly} and our 2 Enrichment board members.  We had help with setting up & taking down.
{It is hard to get a good picture inside the church sometimes, so forgive me for the quality of pictures...it was 100x better in person!!}
If you are interested in more information about our event, leave a comment with your email and I will send you the details.
Williams-Sonoma donated some bags and recipe cards.  We also had some coupons and sample lotions inside.  They were able to get hand-outs in each class they attended.
I used my cricut to cut out the letters...and did the streamer ruffle treatment around the edges.
A sister in our ward is an event planner and she had the bar & tiki bar on hand for us to use.
We had pretzels, cinnamon rolls, pizza, lemonade...the typical food court food.  We didn't have a dinner before, just refreshments after.  Even though we announced, emailed, hand-out about not having a dinner we still had complaints that we had only refreshments at the end.  We didn't start until 7pm. I guess some people have to complain about something...right?  So, if you do this theme ever...look out for hungry sisters! ;)
We had several donated items that we were able to giveaway; like a dustbuster, nice toaster, toys and more.
We had a table with Emergency Prepardness information.  We also had information about weather from our local weather station.  We get really bad weather during this time of year.
This is our "Junk in the Trunk" Thrift Store area that is for people to bring the items they don't need anymore and for those people that can use it, they just take it {I got a cute pair of capris and a skirt}.  We usually call this our Provident Living Table.  We organized it a little more than we usually do.  Whatever is leftover we take to a place where it is donated.
That trunk is mine, it was my mom's when she went to college.
A sister in our ward sells Modbe clothes and she had the racks and forms to hang the clothes on.
We divided the sisters into 3 groups to rotate through the classes.
This was our Family class about bringing our families together.
We tried our best to make it look like a kitchen table.  I used small grapevine wreaths as napkin holders.
We positioned the chairs to make a "U" around the kitchen table.
We had it set up in the RS room.  We miss having those dividers that the church used to have.  We brought a lot of items from home to display!!
This is my apron that my talented sister-in-law made for me!  I LOVE it!
This is Yahui's apron from Anthropology that I had to show because it was soooo cute!!!
This picture is of Sara and her family, Sara was so gracious to come from another ward and teach us about gathering families together!  Sara was one of the first people I met when we moved here and she is amazing & has a beautiful/handsome family!
I painted these posters the night before, I should've procrastinated to finish them or they would've been soooo much better!
This is the class about not judging others {don't judge another until you walk in their shoes}
Sarah A. did an awesome job of making us more aware of what we do without thinking about it.  She actually called all of the sisters in the ward and asked them what they feel that they are judged about.
Some said "I am shy and others think I am a snob"
"Others think I am too materialistic, yet they don't know that I make or buy things on sale"
"Others give me looks when my kids are going nuts"---{my problem because I am a "Sacrament Widow", my hubby is in the Bishopric}
We have several sisters that have fabulous shoes in the ward that we were able to borrow to display.  I used toile and some red burlap.  We had this class on the stage and actually had the lights down low for it.
Our "Wireless" store was about improving our communication with our Heavenly Father.  I wasn't able to sit in this class, but from what I hear the Bishop really did a fantastic job, we knew he would!
We had a few giveaways in this class because Kelly's neighbor works for a wireless company.
Friday morning this was my van...I had NO energy to barely get my purse out the night before.  I didn't get home until 11pm!!
I hope you enjoyed a little glimpse into our night, Kelly and I said that we will never bring our house to the church again!  :)

I need Outdoor Furniture Inspiration...Help!!

Calling for Inspiration!!!
One of our main projects this summer is to really make our backyard fun and inviting!  The reason why we bought our house was the BIG backyard that is flat.  The boys have a soccer field with nets and everything out there.  This house was definitely not my favorite, but I saw potential!
This is my dilemma:
Outdoor Furniture is EXPENSIVE!
I found this collection over at PotteryBarn that I would LOVE!
Just to see how much it was cost for this set {with extra seat}, 2 lounge chairs and a dining set {seating 8}:
$9,090.00
Um, Yeah...I can think of a lot of other things that I would do with that money.
I would love to see your backyard spaces, ideas, altering furniture, anything to get me to be inspired.  I really don't want to spend too much...not over $1,000.

We decorated the church this morning for our RS Meeting "Zion's Mall".  It took us 3 hours, 6 girls, 3 men {to carry in the heavy stuff}.  It really looks amazing.  I am going to get there extra early to take pictures, I know that the pictures will not give it justice!  You know how hard to decorate the church to make it 'not look like the gym'!!
Have a fabulous day!

I'm a Gift Bagger...take my poll

What are you...a Bagger or a Wrapper?
Take my little poll to the right for fun...
I am a bagger, it is quick and easy.  I am sending out my nephew's birthday present today and I just attached a 6"x6" monogrammed "M" that I cut with the cricut {I'm getting my money's worth out if it this week!}
I love a beautifully wrapped present too, I need to practice!
If you have any fun tips on how you wrap gifts, let me know!
Baby K was up until 3:30am last night, took her to the doctor today and she is fine...just a bad night of teething.  I have tons left to get done for our big night tomorrow night, set up first thing in the morning!

Handouts for RS

These are the little handouts for the "Shoe Store" for our RS meeting on Thursday.  It says:
"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
--Mother Teresa
The shoe store's mini-class theme is about not judging others.  We are decorating it like a French Boutique using Black, White and Red!!  We have some ladies in our ward that have FABULOUS shoes, they are gracious enough to let us display them.
I should've gotten a better picture of these today, I sent them to get laminated and a magnet on the back already.  Of course, I had to add some bling to it!
My friend had a cricut cartridge that had high heels for "stick people" she let me borrow, it also helps that her hubby works for Provo Craft.

Tonight I am working on the "Food Court" sign.  I can't wait to put it all together!  I will definitely have tons of pictures of this event on Friday with more information for those of you that also have my calling {Enrichment/RS Meeting Leader}.
Have a delightful day!

Vintage Window Stitch

I did this stitch years ago when my sis-in-law gave me the stitch to do on our long drive from visiting in Utah.
I found this window at my favorite flea market and it originally had an ugly quilt stapled in it...I usually love quilts, but this one was seriously not good.
The Stitch says:
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth"
3 John 1:4
I know that I want to hear my children walking in truth...
The size of the window is about 36"x18", right now it is in our Master Bedroom but I am thinking of relocating it soon.
I have tons to do for the Relief Society Meeting on Thursday, so no crafting today.  I will definitely be taking tons of pictures when we have it all set up for "Zion's Mall" and have more info on what we did for those of you that are interested.
Have a Joyous day!

Brown Rosette Pendant

This rosette is made out of taffeta, it is hard to really get a good picture of it so I really had to lighten the picture {yes, I do need a tan!}
I attached the rosette to a flat square pendant that I got at HobLob!
Simple & Easy...that's the way I work!
Have a splendid weekend!

Nesting

Today I crafted with Leslie and we got a lot done!  We made this hanging nest {there are eggs in the bucket}.  We saw this idea somewhere and I can find our reference or I would link to it {I will update when I find it}
It was super easy to make:
1 bucket
3 types of ribbon {we also used tulle}
Excelsor filling
Tag
Leslie is really good at making bows, so she made mine.  She just attached it with hot glue to the bottom of the bucket.
After she left, I decided to make some tags to go with it.  {one for me, one for Leslie}
I used canvas as the base of the tag.  Inked the edges with black.  I had some paper that looked like grass to me... I love the little alphabet stickers by EK Success.  Then I just used a sharpie and wrote "blessings".  Super easy!!
Leslie and I were inspired by Becky's nest in her sifter.  See it here on her blog:  Beyond the Picket Fence.
This is all Leslie's creation that I had to share with y'all.
She had her mother-in-law's vintage sifter and made this beautiful nest!
Thanks Becky for inspiring us!  Now I have to go find a sifter for me!!!
Have a delightful weekend!
