*UPDATED* Keep Calm...Burlap Stitch

*updated: I added a burlap flower with the ribbon*
*FREE STITCH PATTERN*
Just leave a comment {& be a Follower!}with your email and I will send you a Word Doc. of this stitch.
{if you don't have Word I used the Gill Sans MT font in 100pt & 60pt}

While I was trying to get to sleep the other night, I had the thought come to me...why not do a stitch on burlap.  I need to make one that says "Keep Calm and Give me your Chocolate" because when I get stressed I head straight to my chocolate stash.
{I just noticed that in the picture it seems a little wavy, in real life the letters are straighter...I promise!!}
I cut a larger piece of burlap and put duct tape around the edges so it didn't come apart.
Then I did my good ol' fashioned lightbox on my window with a sharpie.
I think next time I might double up on the line to make it thicker.
Andrea from JandAandCo blog inspired me by her making these:
I would LOVE one of them!!!
Jen at Tatertots and Jello blog is a big inspiration for burlap projects:
I LOVE her pillows that she made here:

A Stitch for a School Art Fundraiser

I donated this stitch that I made for my little guy's school Art Fundraiser Auction today.  I think it turned out perfect for someone to buy for a teacher, counselor, aide or even the Principal!
I bought the frame at HobLob for 1/2 off.  Then I got on Word and used the Curlz font to design the stitch.  I taped the printout of the words on my window {my old fashioned light box} to transfer it onto muslin fabric.  You can do that with any font or design.
I didn't take any pictures while I was making the bow for a little tutorial.  Believe me, I will be making more of those because I really love how it turned out.  {I attached it to the outside of the frame, I also hot glued the ribbon to the top of the stitch}
Sorry, I had to block out his schools name...I know that you would understand.  It really is sooo cute in real life.  I hope it goes for big bucks!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter Weekend!  We did!

Vintage Window Stitch

I did this stitch years ago when my sis-in-law gave me the stitch to do on our long drive from visiting in Utah.
I found this window at my favorite flea market and it originally had an ugly quilt stapled in it...I usually love quilts, but this one was seriously not good.
The Stitch says:
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth"
3 John 1:4
I know that I want to hear my children walking in truth...
The size of the window is about 36"x18", right now it is in our Master Bedroom but I am thinking of relocating it soon.
I have tons to do for the Relief Society Meeting on Thursday, so no crafting today.  I will definitely be taking tons of pictures when we have it all set up for "Zion's Mall" and have more info on what we did for those of you that are interested.
Have a Joyous day!

Bird Delight Stitch

I stitched this a couple of years ago.  I used Heidi Swapp's scrapbook paper with a bird for a template.  I did the font myself.
I used to be a part of a monthly stitch group and used to stitch all the time.
To do this project, I used everything that I had on hand.  I just painted the frame black & tea-dyed muslin.  {I don't drink tea, but I have some on hand for projects like this}
The flower is actually attached to the glass on the outside.  I just layered a flower then cut out 2 different sizes of circles and folded them to give a petal look.  The bling in the middle is from the flea market, I bought it knowing that I would be able to use it somehow.
Have a fabulous weekend!
