Flowers for a Friend...

Have you ever made something and
 love it so much that you don't want to give it away?
I will be good this time and give them to my friend for her birthday. ;)
She had requested for me to make these for her big, gray felt purse.
The red felt is embossed, it adds a nice texture.
Here is a link to the tutorial for the felt flowers...click here.
The fun green and white polka dot paper is from the Canvas Corp's new Bright paperline.

Hanging Magnetic Board...Mixed Media

This was my first attempt at doing Mixed Media Art.
I have been inspired by Christy Thomlinson and her amazing creations {click here to her blog}

This project is a canvas covered magnetic board from Canvas Corp
The magnetic board came from their Make Memo line, they come framed.

 The flowers are the magnets.
The black part of the rook is Canvas Corp's product called Chalkstock.
You can use chalk on it!
This project definitely stretched my design process...it took a while,
but I think it turned out fun!
Canvas Corp Products that I used:
Make Memo magnetic board, 12x12 canvas page, cork circles,
Chalkstock, Corkstock, Paper, Burlap Shapes, Clothespins, Metal hanger.
Have a fabulous Monday!!

Happy New Year!!

I hope everyone had a delightful Christmas and overall Holiday Season!  My family and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I have been needing to post for a very long time, I can't believe that it has been a month since my last post!  I have had some opportunities come up for me to work for an amazing company!  I am now working for Canvas Corp. as a designer and online media manager.  When I received my first bags of product to design projects for CHA, I was seriously in heaven!!  Their basic line has everything to do with Canvas and Burlap...my 2 favorite fabrics to design with, plus a whole lot more.  You will be seeing a lot of their products on my blog from here on out!

Here is one of the projects I did for their catalog:
This is actually a pillow form that I had not stuffed yet.  I hot glued the clothespins on the pillow, so I could change out the pictures on the pillow at anytime.  The Canvas Corp products that I used:  Large square burlap shape, small pennant burlap shape, black & white paper, large & small clothespins.  Once I matted the picture, I used Matte Mod Podge to make it more durable to be out on a bench or chair.

Enjoy!!

I think I made a LARGE Rosette! {more Magnolia Junk!}

I taught the ladies at "enrichment night" last night how to make these rolled rosettes.  I decided at the last minute to make one large one that has several {around 8 or so} long strips of fabric going round and round.
I love how this turned out for Kate's room.
I have had that striped pillow forever and I am glad that it has new life!!
Today's teaser for the stuff we have been doing over at Magnolia Junk!!
Leslie and I are going to go to Eclipse tonight!!  For some reason Bill isn't interested in seeing it....:)

Long Time...No Post

It was the first full week with all of the kids at home, lots of action.
Leslie and I have been up to craftin' tons.  This is a teaser picture for you to go and see
on the other stuff we have made...
I whipped this pretty up about an hour before church because my outfit needed a little "pop"! :)
This was my thank you card for my mom helping me last week with YW Camp crafts!
She was amazing...in her element.
{I made the rosette into a brooch for her to wear}
Just a quick project I did the other day,
I had a chipboard letter "L" and wrapped it in some Jute...that's it!
This isn't a very good picture, but I attached it to the mossy landscape
and placed it on top of my kitchen cabinets.
Have a delightful weekend!
