CTR Sign

I made this little CTR sign for my nephew's baptism present {about 4"x12" size, vinyl letters}.
We are not going to be able to make it out to Utah this weekend for his special day.
My parents are coming home from their mission as I type this!
{they were in the Albuquerque New Mexico LDS Mission on a Navajo Reservation}
Their "Homecoming" is this Sunday, I can't wait!!
Have a beautiful day!

Meet Virginia Giveaway!!

You have to go check out Morgan's Giveaway on her blog Meet Virginia and Roo.
She is giving away some of her fantastic creations for her birthday, see here:
I wish that I knew how to crochet, when I have "tried" I feel that my hands can't work together at the same time!
Have a fun day!

*UPDATED* Keep Calm...Burlap Stitch

*updated: I added a burlap flower with the ribbon*
*FREE STITCH PATTERN*
Just leave a comment {& be a Follower!}with your email and I will send you a Word Doc. of this stitch.
{if you don't have Word I used the Gill Sans MT font in 100pt & 60pt}

While I was trying to get to sleep the other night, I had the thought come to me...why not do a stitch on burlap.  I need to make one that says "Keep Calm and Give me your Chocolate" because when I get stressed I head straight to my chocolate stash.
{I just noticed that in the picture it seems a little wavy, in real life the letters are straighter...I promise!!}
I cut a larger piece of burlap and put duct tape around the edges so it didn't come apart.
Then I did my good ol' fashioned lightbox on my window with a sharpie.
I think next time I might double up on the line to make it thicker.
Andrea from JandAandCo blog inspired me by her making these:
I would LOVE one of them!!!
Jen at Tatertots and Jello blog is a big inspiration for burlap projects:
I LOVE her pillows that she made here:

Miss Kate's Birthday Party

*Come back tomorrow...I will have a FREE STITCH PATTERN that you will LOVE*

Little Miss Kate turned 1 last Friday and we had a BBQ Birthday Party on Saturday with family and friends.
I made these pom-poms and poster for the "backdrop" of her eating her cupcake!
I found out how to make these large pom-poms over at Martha Stewarts site. {Click here for the link}
My friend's daughter helped me make them on Friday night.  She already has plans to make them for her bedroom!  Seriously Fast and Easy...just the way I like it!

I used a foam core posterboard to paint her name with the birdie and tree.
The bird is made out of chipboard and I have had it forever!!  I am glad to finally use it.  I cut out a couple of fabric circles to make her "feathers".
Then I hot glued the fabric ruffles on the bottom using Tanya Whelan fabric.
I used this stamp roller to give the tree some texture.
I think that I will probably add some more items to the board and then put it in her bedroom.
I was hoping to have time to make her a dress for her birthday, but it didn't happen.
My parents are coming home from their mission tomorrow and my mom said that she would help me make her some outfits...after she gets settled of course! Yeah!
She had a fabulous time...I can't believe my baby is already 1!!!

Baby Diaper Cake

Here is the full picture of the diaper cake that I made this week.
I love the color combos...
All of the products that I used on the cake I bought at Hobby Lobby,
except for the diapers of course.  I used a lot of hot glue!!
The middle section is a box with a present inside.
I used a little over 50 rolled up diapers in the base.
{I put 2 rolled up diapers together in one rubberband and a few individual ones}

I used rub-on letters to spell out "Sweet Emmaline". {American Crafts}
I took off the flower from its stem to use on the chipboard and put a large rhinestone in the middle.
The flowers are made out of felt that I shaped into petals.  I curled the edges using tiny dots of hot glue to keep the shape.  Then I had to add the bling with glue glitter around the edges and a rhinestone in the middle.
If I had more time, I would've put in one more layer to the flowers...
Have a delightful weekend!

Special Guest Blogger: JenGlamGirl from LarsenLoves

Hello REDBERRY BARN Fans~ I am Jennie, or some know me as JenGlamGirl, and I am from Larsenloves. I AM THRILLED to be spotlighting my blog today on Jen's blog. Jen is very talented and I just love seeing her creations. I enjoy seeing pics. of her decor too, it's always done so tastefully and just the way I would like it too. She is certainly one to inspire many. I am honored to be on Jen's blog today.
My family this past Easter Sunday.
A little about me, I married my blind date (by big brother approval) his name is Kevin and we have been married for 10 years going on 11. We have three children together Preston 8, Arabella 4, and Ryker 15 mos. Together we live in beautiful Southern Utah. I stay at home with my dumplings and keep busy with them. As well as many crafts, projects, diy days, decorating, cooking, and of course blogging. Let me share just some of the things I enjoy doing, creating, and sprucing, and then blogging them ;)

I will start you off, by showing you this chair and table my hunny and I re-finished a little over a year ago. It was light oak on top and the base and chairs were a aqua country blue, with big blue and white gingham cushions. I told the hun, that I wanted black and dark walnut. We HE worked hard, but I helped too!
Here is a DIY picture arrangment or grouping I put together in my hallway nook. I "ADORE" my children. This was a very populare post and even was featured on Somehwhat Simple. ;)
One large DIY project I did, was finding this huge shelf on Craigslist in knotty pine and then painting, painting, touching up, and sanding it. Its a treasure I sure enjoy, as well as changing it out and decorating it for the holidays.
I love LOVE to decorate, and will show you my decorations in hopes to inspire. ;) I especially show my decorations during the holidays. I love to decorate my entry table, here is my Entry table as of now. To bad, I will be packing it all up this weekend.
Another DIY project I did was prime, paint, decoupage, and vinyl my daughters headboard.
I love to craft, and just recently opened up a craft blog Craftomaniac.blogspot.com for all things crafty. . I created some fun Easter crafts.... a couple examples you see are; Mod Podged napkin eggs, and a Mod Podged napkin wood letter "E". If Crafts are more your thing, check out my craft blog. However, all my home decor, DIY, decorating, Fashion Fridays, and many  more things including all things Larsen... will be on LarsenLoves.
I offer a few other fun things on my blog during the week, like Sweet Saturday Somethings, Fashion Fridays (everyother Friday) This and That Thursday, and Wordless Wednesdays.... There will always be silly fun updates and pics. on the fam. too.
here is an example:
Doll up the eyes, with color!
This and That Thursday is a really fun post I do every other Thursday, in fact I do it on the week that I don't do Fashion Fridays. It's a post of all things I find THAT THIS gal love's or like's.

Here is an Example of one of my Wordless Wednesdays~ "PRETTY IN PINK"
I sure hope you all come visit me at LarsenLoves, I would be thrilled and flattered if you followed me too!
AND A GIANT THANK YOU AGAIN TO Jen!!! ;)

***See...I told y'all she is fabulous!!!  Go visit her blog, you will be inspired!
Thanks Jen!!

Diaper Cake Topper & Bow making Tutorial

This is a little teaser picture of the diaper cake that I made for my sweet friend's baby shower last night.

I will be Guest Blogging over at LarsenLoves tomorrow where I will show you a picture of the whole cake!
You will have to go over there and check it out!!!
JenGlamGirl from LarsenLoves will be Guest Blogging here tomorrow!!  She is amazing!

I love the name Emmaline...{baby K's middle name, a family name}
I am in love with this color of turquoise!!
I used about 3 or so yards to make the bow.  I chose a wired ribbon, so much easier to get it to form the way you want.
You can make it whatever size you want!
The bottom piece is flat and then you go back and forth making the loops like this:
I used a little piece of twine to tie it together in the middle to hold it in place.
Then with a separate piece of ribbon, make a square knot {or whatever kind of knot that you want}. Make sure that you leave enough on each side of the side to be able to tie it around the bow.
Then you place the knot in the middle and tie it in the back.  With this bow I didn't cut the excess length of the knot and used it as a part of the bow.
This is the fun part, start "poofing" it up, play with it for a while to get the look that you are after.
I wanted it to be extra "poofy"!!
Enjoy your day!!

A Stitch for a School Art Fundraiser

I donated this stitch that I made for my little guy's school Art Fundraiser Auction today.  I think it turned out perfect for someone to buy for a teacher, counselor, aide or even the Principal!
I bought the frame at HobLob for 1/2 off.  Then I got on Word and used the Curlz font to design the stitch.  I taped the printout of the words on my window {my old fashioned light box} to transfer it onto muslin fabric.  You can do that with any font or design.
I didn't take any pictures while I was making the bow for a little tutorial.  Believe me, I will be making more of those because I really love how it turned out.  {I attached it to the outside of the frame, I also hot glued the ribbon to the top of the stitch}
Sorry, I had to block out his schools name...I know that you would understand.  It really is sooo cute in real life.  I hope it goes for big bucks!
I hope you had a wonderful Easter Weekend!  We did!

Red Barrett Tutorial

Yesterday, Baby K wore a really cute red and white gingham shirt and then I realized that she didn't have a barrett to match {she has a red bow, but it probably won't fit her until next year}.
Another quick and easy one to make, I am sure that I will make more...
Warm up your hot glue gun!!!
Cut out 3 {or more}circles about 3" in diameter {you can do whatever size you like}
Then fold it in half...
Fold it in half again. I put a little dot of hot glue to keep it this shape.
Hot Glue them together, side-by-side.
I just covered my barrett with a red ribbon.
Just hot glue the flower on the barrett.  I actually added some tulle on the side.
Have a Beautiful Easter!!!

My "No Soliciting" Sign

I always look forward to warmer weather, but it always welcomes more door-to-door people trying to sell me stuff that I don't want.  Lately, they have been a little on the scary side, like prison release or something.
This is the cutest "No Soliciting" sign that I have ever seen. :)
I know that you are jealous of my "Please Knock" sign!!
I had this wooden plaque for a couple of years just waiting to be made into something...
I used my handy, dandy Cricut machine to cut out the letters.
2 coats of black,
2 coats of modge podge.  {drying in this picture}
Then I added some wire and beads...done!!
I just hope those people know what "soliciting" means!
{This project didn't cost me anything because I had everything on hand}
I have been MIA this week, I have several big projects in the works!  I can't wait to get them done to show!
Have a great day!
