Spring Ring

I made this ring a couple of weeks ago and now just getting around to posting it!
I bought a cheap-o ring that had a bling-brooch thing on it and I pulled it off to use on a necklace I made {click here to see it}.  So, I had the ring base left over.  I just hot glued this little rose on it and that was it!
A fun Spring Ring!!
The rose came in a little bunch found in the craft section of a department store.
The Girl Creative is having a fun linky party called "New Friend Friday" as a way to have us meet fellow bloggers and leave comments on their blogs.  I thought that was a fun idea.  Here is the button link to it for you to check out:

Random Stuff...

Last night, I went to a home center here in town that is going out of business and I was able to get these Benjamin Moore Paint samples for $.75 ea., they are the same size as acrylic paints {2 oz}.  They are orginially $4.99 ea.!!!  I think I might run out and get some more while they are still there!
I also found these little items.  I am going to use the canisters in my craft room as storage, I might have this on my work table...who knows.  It was orginally $57 and I got it for $13.
The silver business card holder I thought would be a fun picture holder.
This is what I have been working on today...tags for our Relief Society Birthday Meeting.   I still have a hard time not calling it Enrichment.  {it is the women's organization in our church http://www.lds.org/} We are having a "Zion's Mall" with a Shoe Store {don't judge another until you walk in their shoes mini class}, a Williams-Sonoma Kitchen Store {Being with Family}, a Wireless Store {Prayer}.  Plus, we are having a food court and a thrift store {our Provident living tables, people bring items they don't want anymore and it is a free swap.  Then we send the rest to Goodwill}.  These tags will go on the shopping bags that we will have for the ladies. It will have coupons, samples, handouts and etc. in it!  We are also having a kiosk area that will have Emergency Prepardness information.
I will definitely take pictures of what it looks like when it is set up.  I am so excited about it!!
Have a wonderful day!

I think I made a Large Birthday Card...

Mr. B is in charge of the birthday party for a co-worker today.  If you had the previous birthday...then you are in charge of the next one.
Too bad they don't have a Party Planning Department like on The Office with Angela & Phyllis.
This is about a 12"x12" size.
I got out my cricut machine and cut everything out for it {my letters aren't very straight, oh well}.  I had tons of streamers left over from my St. Patty's project, so I just but ruffles around it.
This is the back side for the co-workers to sign it.
Have a delightful day!

Pottery Barn Key Display

This project was super easy!  I went over to Pottery Barn the other day and found this set of 7 keys for $19.  I thought that was a pretty good deal.  {Here is a link to the keys}.  I love keys and I have collected several sets over the years.  These keys are definitely meant to be displayed.
I have them in my living room right now, I am sure that they will find a new home soon!
I just had to show you the nest I made out of burlap left overs...I just gathered some of the burlap threads into a circle and put the birdie in the middle.  It is kind of hard to see it in the glare of the glass.
I love the color of the keys!  Matched my walls perfectly.
This is a frame that I have had for a while that had 3-5"x7" pictures of my boys in it, then I had a baby girl and it didn't work anymore for kids pictures.  {the frame is from Hobby Lobby and measures 31"x13 1/2"}
I actually filled in the picture opening with foam core {a staple in my craft room} and then layered white cotton fabric over it before I wrapped it with the burlap.
I will most likely add some other element to the frame...when I do I will post it.
Enjoy!!!

Bird Delight Stitch

I stitched this a couple of years ago.  I used Heidi Swapp's scrapbook paper with a bird for a template.  I did the font myself.
I used to be a part of a monthly stitch group and used to stitch all the time.
To do this project, I used everything that I had on hand.  I just painted the frame black & tea-dyed muslin.  {I don't drink tea, but I have some on hand for projects like this}
The flower is actually attached to the glass on the outside.  I just layered a flower then cut out 2 different sizes of circles and folded them to give a petal look.  The bling in the middle is from the flea market, I bought it knowing that I would be able to use it somehow.
Have a fabulous weekend!

In my Kitchen...

Here is a look into my kitchen.  {to the left is the kitchen, to the right is the dining area}
I found this beauty at my flea market...I couldn't help myself!  It stores our crockpot, griddle and etc., plus my Cricut machine!
Yes, it is another "L".  That is a large chalkboard frame that I just scribbled the "L" on.
I got this vinyl saying from a Super Saturday a couple of years ago and I found this plate charger from Pottery Barn on clearance {I should've gotten more!}.  The vinyl fit perfectly without planning on it to!  I love it when that happens!
Then at my favorite flea market I found several vintage postcards with the LDS Salt Lake City Temple on it.  You also have to understand that I live far, far away from Utah and to find that was a treat!
Another birdie!!  Of course, added the burlap for some texture, on one of my old cake stands!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Floral Hanging Ball {Tutorial}

I made this today because my sister & niece {3 mo.old} were coming over so I can take pictures of Baby A in her blessing dress.  I thought it would be fun to hang it above her in a picture, we didn't make it to that point today because we were working too close to her naptime.  I did get some fantastic pictures though of her in the beautiful vintage blessing dress laying on black and white toile {I can say vintage because all of us girls wore it in our blessings, plus all of our daughters}.
This again is my first time to make something like this.  I pretty much used the same techniques that I did for the paper wreath in the previous post.
{I used stuff that I had on hand for this project, it probably cost about: $3.50 or so}
I used pinking shears {of course!!!}.  I had 3 sheets of tissue paper that I cut into 5"x5" pieces.  I cut the 3 layers at the same time and it made 20 squares, the exact amount that I needed to fill the ball.  The ball was about 4" in diameter.
I staggered the layers:
Then held it in the middle to form the petals like this...I just played with it until I got the look I wanted.
Here is the pinch on the bottom:
Hot glue it to the ball.  I decided to attach the ribbon around the ball and made a loop to hang it with.
I will most likely make more to hang in Baby K's room.  It was pretty easy to make...if I can make it...anyone can!! {my motto!}
Enjoy!!

Paper Wreath using a 'Little Women' book...{tutorial}

This is my first paper wreath, I have been admiring the ones I have seen made online.
I had an old Little Women book that I thought would be perfect for this project.
A closer look...I sprayed it with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist {you can't tell in the picture}
I will probably put this in Baby K's room.
I got the silver ceiling tin from the flea market...it was love at first sight!
I started with a 10" straw wreath, strips of burlap, hot glue & a book
Just wrap the burlap around so you don't see the wreath form.
Rip out several sheets of the book.
First fold: {trim off the bottom and make little flowers with it}
Second fold:  {I used pinking shears}
Third fold:
Fourth fold:
Cut a rounded top part:
This is what it will look like at this point:
Pinch the middle to give the petals some shape:
Hot glue to the wreath.  I only did one row of flowers, if I had all the time in the world I would've covered the whole thing!
Enjoy!
